This isn’t the company’s first misstep!
Contra Costa County health officials announced another petroleum coke dust release at the Martinez refinery on Friday, October 6th. Adding to the severity, this is the 4th release of harmful materials from the refinery since Thanksgiving 2022 and the 3rd one in 2023.
The Martinez Refinery incidents not only jeopardize public safety and our environment, but they also question the adequacy of communication regarding potential hazards. This could lead to severe health consequences for nearby residents.
